Attainly

Attainly is a goal-oriented scheduling and progress-tracking application.

It allows users to create structured collections of content or tasks, divide them into scheduled assignments across a selected date range, and mark each assignment complete as they progress toward the larger goal.

Core Concept

A goal in Attainly can contain multiple levels of nested elements.

For example, a Bible study collection could be organized like this:

Bible
- Genesis
  - Genesis
    - Chapter 1
    - Chapter 2
  - Noah
    - Chapter 1
    - Chapter 2
- Exodus
- Leviticus

The structure is flexible and is not limited to reading plans. Attainly can be used for study programs, courses, books, projects, training plans, personal goals, or any other objective that can be broken into smaller parts.

Scheduling

When creating a schedule, the user selects:

The set they want to complete
The level of the collection to schedule
The start date
The target completion date

Attainly then distributes the selected elements evenly across the available days.

For example, a user could choose to schedule:

One book at a time
Individual chapters
Smaller sections within each chapter
Any other available level in the collection structure

Schedules always cover a whole set. To schedule only a subset of an existing set, the user creates a separate set containing that subset and gives it its own name.

Daily Progress

Users can view the items scheduled for each day and mark them complete as they finish them.

Attainly tracks:

Completed items
Uncompleted items
Current progress
Remaining work
Progress toward the final goal

The primary experience is designed around checking in regularly, completing the assigned elements, and steadily moving toward completion.

Schedule Adjustment

If a user misses one or more days, Attainly can recalculate the remaining schedule.

Completed items remain completed, while unfinished items are redistributed across the remaining days before the original target completion date.

This prevents missed assignments from piling up on the day the user returns while still keeping the user focused on reaching the original goal.
